Clean Technologies for Transportation

Full-Spectrum Regional Collaboration

The i-GATE partnership enables the full spectrum of regional collaboration for "green" transportation and clean energy technologies, including: vehicle engine efficiency, electric vehicles/batteries, alternative fuels, vehicle aerodynamics and lightweighting, autonomous vehicles, "smart" freeway systems, transportation systems analysis (modeling and simulation), engine analysis software, clean energy generation, energy efficiency technologies, and a variety of other topics that leverage the resources of i-GATE national laboratories and universities to help launch successful startup companies.

The i-GATE partnership is composed of two DOE national laboratories, the City of Livermore, government institutions, local jurisdictions, a DOE biofuels research institute, public and private universities, community colleges, industry, and a variety of venture capital, workforce development, and economic development agencies that provide the economic support network for the i-GATE region. The City of Livermore is the iHub Coordinator, Sandia is the lead laboratory, and CITRIS at the University of California, Berkeley, serves as the supporting UC Institute for Science and Innovation.
